John Larsen is a writer, university instructor, and business consultant. His second book, Earthrise, profiles the moon mission of Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, the first non-American to venture into deep space. His first book, Moose Jaw: People, Places, History, a microcosm of how the Canadian West was settled, was published by Coteau Press. It was a Canadian best-seller and won a Saskatchewan Heritage Award.
John began his career as a military officer and spent most of his working life in international PR agencies. A citizen of Canada and Denmark, he now taps his keyboard from locations worldwide. John has been writing for over 30 years, beginning with community papers, migrating to weekly newspapers, evolving into magazine writing and finally, into non-fiction books. John has a couple of graduate degrees, including an MFA in creative non-fiction from the University of King’s College. When not writing, John finds any opportunity to read in obscure cafés, tour remote roads on his Triumph motorcycle, or plunge beneath the ocean's surface. He’s an expedition cyclist and long-distance hiker and always makes time for great jazz and theatre.
